An Adoration for Apples

I haven't posted in forever! In fact, it's been over a month. Sometimes I've thought of posting but I haven't had anything I've really wanted to say. I'd like to post something of substance, but I haven't had the energy to so instead I will express to you all how much I am loving apples right now. I know, it's kind of a weird post but oh well. Here's how is started: A week or so ago now the administrative assistant at our church brought some apples she and her family had picked at an orchard. They were Spry. I guess I've never had this kind of apple before because these were like no apple I've ever tasted and they blew me out of the water. They were so crisp (a must for me with apples), and so tart! I puckered and loved every minute of it. I ate three in one day I think. Yumm! Today there was two huge containers of apples from the Annapolis Valley in the grocery store. One was Cortland apples, one was Honey Crisp. This is a kind I had never heard of until we were in Seattle the last time and Ryan's dad asked us to pick up some. I had never tried them before and man are they good. Just the right amount of sweetness, crisp, and they're a beautiful color. So while they're in season you should get some apples. They're delicious.

As well today I got three beautiful squashes. One is orange, one is green, and one is yellow with orange and green stripes. I love produce that is as good to look at as it is to eat. Right now I have them sitting on my covered glass cake stand in the dinning room. I'm weird I know, but I think they're beautiful and I want to display them.

Okay, now you at least have somthing new to read, whether or not it's interesting.
