Our Weather is so Wierd
I have experienced a sun shower many times, but never sun flurries until today. It was bright and sunyy out, and suddenly it started snowing. Not hard, just flurries. Then, only minutes after it started it stopped again. And the whole while it was abnormally bright and sunny. Wierd.
Oh my goodness, I just have to say something. I came in from walking to the grocery store with Ryan, and decided to sit for a bit with my glass of Diet Dr. Pepper, the glorious drink that it is, and perhaps watch a bit of TV. I happened to catch the end of What Not to Wear, one of my favorite shows, and it was an episode I had not seen; the $50,000 episode to be exact. I was glad because I had wanted to see that episode when it was on and hadn't. My goodness was it incredible. They were in Paris, the first fabulous thing about it, and when I came into it, they were on their third day of shopping, and headed to Christian Lacroix, one of only about ten designers in the world who can use the label Haute Couture. I nearly died. To add to it, they had reserved the upper room for her, and picked out one of everything in her size for her to try on. Plus, she had 4 attendents from the store helping her, and as is the case in all upscale stores, they were serving them drinks and things. It was incredible just to watch. That day she had to spend $12,000 , and she did. No problem. I know I am not suppossed to covet, but I wanted to be in her shoes so badly at that moment. Oh well.
Speaking of fashion, it's time for today's tip of the day. I must say, I was a bit hesitant about this at first. I wondered if people would acctually find it interesting, or think it was dumb and boring. I also wondered if people would think I was being pretentious, but I am really only trying to have fun with this. I was encouraged last night however when dani seemed interested in it, so maybe there are a few others as well. So, for what it's worth, here it is.
Fashion Tip of the Day:
Bags are of course an essential for every girl, and happen to be a bit of an obession for me, so that's why I love Lucky magazine and it's Bag Guide. Here are some of my favorites of what they say is hot for spring and summer:
Clutches are one of my favorite types of bags because they are truly form over function, and they are just so cute. Here is a cute one from Old Navy at quite a resonable price.
if you can believe it, straw bags are back in style, but as with everything, there is a little twist. The straw bags this years are tailored, with a slightly 50's feeling. Perfect with a sunny, printed spring skirt, and a cute tee. Here again is a very reasonably priced one from, who'd have guessed it, Payless.
Big, bright, and bamboo, are all elements that are also key in bags this spring. Here is a great bag from Banana Republic that combines all three. I realize many of you reading this don't have access to a Banana Repuiblic, and neither do I, but that gives you an idea of some elements to look for in other bags you see.
Some honorable mentions, sorry, no pictures for these, are:
~ Embellished bags. Beading is big here. Think leather and metal for rock-star glamour, or wood and suede for an updated and refined hippie feel.
~ Florals. These are big for spring and summer, the key here being to keep the print large and the bag simple.
~ Crochet. This is continuing the reinvented Grandmother trend that has been popular. So, raid your Grandma's house, and you might find something :)
Happy shopping!

Sarah-
I loved your fashion tip of the day! I have an obession with purses/bags and I can't seem to get enough of them and I seem to buy them when I don't need them and I have to look at them no matter what. Tabor hates it and has been good about helping me not buy them but I still have to look. So I really enjoyed the fashion tip. And I don't think one person can have too many purses/bags!
Hope you are having a good week!
